The One Hundred

Today was one of those days that you wish you could just have over and over. Yes, it's only 7 PM, but it was that perfect. I woke up around 7 AM to do some reading before the Facets exam. It was in essay question format which I prefer ANY day over multiple choice or fill in the blank; scantrons are the ban of my existence. I would have to say that I have never enjoyed a non-architecture class that much in college. Sustainability in the Built Environment majors are so lucky. Afterwards I came home to just do a little cleaning. Mother's Pub for $3 burgers with Brian, Jules, Gio, and Megan. Gio and Megan are leaving for the break tom. and I would have to say I've really enjoyed getting in know them this semester; they are great people and make a great couple. I spent the rest of the day around GVille with Brian. Gator gear shopping, Union Street Market, Starbuck's, ABC, and Barnes & Noble, lastily, where we browsed for gifts, but I just ended up leaving with the latest Nylon and Dwell and a 2009 calendar for the UClub office. But while browsing I saw some GREAT books that I would love for xmas including one by Nina Garcia. It's about the 100 hundred items every woman should own. I found them listed on an amazon.com review and thought I'd include them here:

A: A-line Dress, Animal Print, Ankle Bootie, Aviators
B: Ballet Flat, Bangles, Belts, Bikini, BlackBerry, Black Opaque Tights, Blazer, Boyfriend Cardigan, Brooch
C: Cable-Knit Sweater, Caftan, Camel Coat, Cape, Cashmere Sweater, Charm Bracelet, Clutch, Cocktail Ring, Converse, Cosmetics Bag, Cowboy Boots, Cuff
D, E, F: Denim Jacket, Diamond Studs, Driving Shoe, Espadrilles, Evening Gown, Exotic Skin Bag, Fishnets, Frye Harness Boot, Fur

T, U, V: Trench, Turquoise and Coral Jewelry, Tuxedo Jacket, Umbrella, Underwear, Valid Passport, Vans, Vintage
W, Y, Z: Watch, Wayfarers, Wellington Boot, Wide-Leg Trousers, Wrap Dress, Yoga Gear, Zippered Hoodie

I already own quite a lot of these items, there are a few I would never own (exotic skin bag, leather pants, camel coat), but there are a few I think I need to add to my wardrobe. So here's my updated list of the 31 things THIS woman doesn't own and needs to:

B: blazer, brooch
C: cashmere sweater, charm bracelet, Converse
D: diamond studs (I have a pair just they irritate my ears)
E: evening gown (I guess my old prom dress, but it has snags)
H: Havaianas, hoop earrings
K: knee boots
L: little black dress, little white dress
M: Mad Money, Minnetonka moccasin, Missoni knit, monogram stationary, motorcycle jacket
O: old concert t-shirt, one-piece swimsuit (I don't think competition suits count)
P: Pucci
R: robe
S: silk scarf, Spanx, sunhat
T: trench, tuxedo jacket, Vans
W: Wayfarers (I have cheap ones, but I would LOVE some good quality Ray Bans's), Wellington boot, wide-leg trousers, wrap dress
Y: yoga gear

I have to do some reading, before a mini-marathon of Three Sheets tonight. But like I said, it was a perfect Gainesville day.

Da Na Na Na Na....Go Gators!

As big of a fan of fashion as I am, I am an even bigger fan of my Florida Gators. I couldn't be prouder of the school that gave us Gatorade, 3 national championships in 2 years, Ryan Lochte, 2008's #1 party school, and most recently a football team that rocked LSU 51-21. It was a glorious day of wins for the Gators, Longhorns, and Devil Rays. But sadly, I have learned that fashion and football do not mix very well. The long-standing mantra that Gators wear jean shorts is sadly true. I will even admit that I've sported a pair of Abercrombie cut-offs a time or two around campus. When I look around the stadium its always a sea of orange, blue, and white printed t-shirts. I was lucky enough to be seated near a sorority block, and saw some great examples of Saturday game fashion. Here's a quick DOs and DON'Ts to set the record straight:

DO find an orange, blue, or white sundress and decorate it with a strategically placed ribbon or button.
DON'T go overboard with Gator paraphenalia. We already know you're a fan if you've made it out to the game and sporting the colors.
DO tie your hair back neatly with a cute Gator ribbon if its a day game. You're going to regret taking the time to style your hair 2 minutes into the 1st quarter.
DON'T cut up a perfectly good shirt into a tiny tube dress that barely covers your boobs and ass.
DO bring a small purse to hold blotting papers, powder, and lip gloss to touch up during halftime. You're going to want to look your best for all those post-win Facebook pics.
DON'T wear heels or wedges to the game. Maybe a cute pair of espadrilles while tailgating, but if you're going to be standing and shouting in the student section, it might be a bit hard to balance after one too many red Solo cups of Natty Light.

And all though I don't always go for the preppiest of guys, you gotta love the fraternity brothers sporting khaki Dockers, Topsiders, a button up, and Gator-themed tie. Swoon.

So thanks to the ADPi girls for being great examples of Gator fashion at last night's game. I could have taken pictures, but I was too busy watching Tebow, Harvin, James, and Rainey walk all over the Tigers. Can't wait for Florida - Georgia!

Quick reminder to myself

It's not even necessary for me to give my reason for why I feel like this....but I have AMAZING friends.

It's like LiveJournal all over again...

I never thought I would start blogging. I even hate the word blog. When I hear it I just think of people ranting and raving about shit because they have no one else in the world to listen to them. So you're probably thinking, "then why did you decide to start a blog, oh pretentious one?" And your answer is because as much as I love my cute little journal designed by a SCAD grad student that I bought at the B n N, the physical act of writing is way too time consuming for me. I'd much rather just type it up in a few minutes and cut and paste from whatever sources I wish. There is really no theme to my postings. This is my life. These are my thoughts. They are unedited, and I will probably reveal a bit too much information from time to time. Hope you enjoy.
