I spent like an hour on etsy looking at aprons and tea infusers (the two kitchen items on want so very much for Christmas), and then probably about an hour on J.Crew as well. My checking account is near empty after the Black Friday shopping extravaganza, but I'm severely lusting over these novelty tees. Which led me to some DYI ideas. These five tees definitely have inspired my creative side.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 275px; height: 275px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/SxFohibzanI/AAAAAAAAANc/MYskyUn4o9E/s320/ribbons.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409219552837069426" /> The way these ribbons float reminds me of a waterfall. The bead work will probably be time consuming, and I might but make an actual necklace with this design.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 275px; height: 275px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/SxFohA6xSZI/AAAAAAAAANM/UZj6ENZtWsk/s320/corsage.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409219543840147858" /> I've been putting corsages on EVERYTHING lately so I think I need to start making a bunch of fabric flowers to attach to my shirts, cardigans, and heels.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 275px; height: 275px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/SxFogzPbFjI/AAAAAAAAANE/zVnHBmT54_U/s320/brown.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409219540168676914" /> I'm very excited to finish this design. I have a brown tee from Old Navy that fits so well, but its just so boring, and I can really only dress it up with a cute necklace. This design is similar to the white tee above, but I definitely would rather just attach the ribbon and flower to the shirt.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 275px; height: 275px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/SxFoh_UgjFI/AAAAAAAAANk/n4o2aO5TKXA/s320/watercolor.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409219560591101010" /> I'm thinking less beads and more watercolor with this shirt. I'm definitely going to have to find a waterproof way to emulate watercolor on a shirt, but I can't wait to start painting!

Wordle

I found out about this site through my friend's bridal blog. Now this can either be a fun and enjoyable trip or it can be a death sentence. Last time my mom came into town she spent 15 minutes yelling at me about how I wasting my life over brunch with my bffl. Definitely not good. But this time she was on much better behavior. Since she has been to Gainesville about a hundred million times and she has seen everything this town has to offer, we settled for the usual - Oaks Mall. Stopped at VS, Ann Taylor, Gap, Express, and BR. Banana Republic is my Gainesville answer to J.Crew which is the love of my life. Of course I couldn't afford anything, but still drooled over a few pieces.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/Ssqy0Uo4UPI/AAAAAAAAAMk/K9PxN9uCZT4/s400/BR+monogram+avant-garde+ruffle-collar+sheath+dress+-+180.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389316516065333490" />
Such a good work shift. I really would love to start dressing nicer for work. But impromptu fliering in 90 degrees/thunderstorms doesn't give me that luxury.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/Ssqy08J4HiI/AAAAAAAAAMs/RFoJjwMpdfA/s400/BR+multi-chain+and+bead+bracelet+-+45.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389316526672715298" />
This bracelet looked so great on. Someone please buy this for me.

The mall was followed up by a movie (Pandorum was your average, space disaster, horror film) and dinner. With a bonus of Coldstone with the bf! They got along well, it was grand. Especially since my mom now thinks she found my future husband. Appalling and amusing all at the same time.

LOOKBOOK.nu Favs

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 252px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/SrmEIaYOgfI/AAAAAAAAAMM/Onq7lu6pJG4/s400/325107_najlepsze.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384480109552894450" />
If there was any look I could pull off, it would be this one. Finally decided on an idea I've had for a while now....DRUNK MARDI GRAS GIRL! Complete with:

- bottle of empty booze
- smeared makeup
- missing shoe
- tramp stamp
- shirt pulled up
- tons of beads covering up "the goods"

I already have everything, except the empty bottle of booze, which will be very easy to accomplish. Trying to decide if I should go with rum, tequila, or bourbon. If it's rum, it's gotta be coconut rum.

Had a fantastical easy day today. Slept in til 11 after dropping off the bf at class. Only worked 4 hours. Amazing workout afterwards. It had been about 2 weeks since I'd had any sort of physical activity. The true test is if my legs will be sore tomorrow. God, i hope so. Quick trip to Publix where I bought amazingness - (1) Nutella & bananas, (2) pecan pralines, and (3) VITAMINS! Publix Greenwise makes super cheap, naturally derived vitamins now. I'm going to be a good girl and take my multi v, E, C, and probiotics religiously for the next month. These v's better work some miracles! Also learned that razor blades are priced like electronics and condoms are way cheap in bulk. Although I don't see how it's possible to not use one without the other. No one likes a hairy partner! I'm oh so TMI sometimes...

SUPER nostalgia

I miss late nights in 111 and 252 playing drinking games and making a fool of myself.
I miss Taco Tuesdays and blowing hundreds of dollars in the Oaks Mall with my Lakeside roomie.
I miss the blue house, drinking High Life on the roof and having sweaty dance parties.
I miss Mediterranean Highlights and my best HS friend, Giselle.
I miss CFOP trips with Tor Tor and our teeny tiny dorm room.
I miss random 3-hour conversations/arguments at Countryside with what has become my Gainesville family.
I miss the excitement of planning rush, social, and service events with APX.
I miss Allie, our lingerie dance parties, and crawling into each other's beds to laugh/cry the morning after a crazy night.
I miss all-nighters in studio, gladiator fights with cardboard paper rolls, and when studio 422 was ballin'.
I miss how awful Limited, Too was, and how much fun we made the work day (and night).
I miss my bffl. Although I think the Jeffrey Campbell's are both in reach because they're on sale at Urban Thread on 13th. Is it so wrong that all I wanna wear is knee boots and sweater dresses? I forget love
not that I am incapable of love
It's just that I see love as odd as wearing shoes-
I never wanted to marry a girl who was like my mother
And Ingrid Bergman was always impossible
And there's maybe a girl now but she's already married
And I don't like men and-
But there's got to be somebody!
Because what if I'm 60 years old and not married,
all alone in a furnished room with pee stains on my underwear
and everybody else is married! All the universe married but me!

Ah, yet well I know that were a woman possible as I am possible
then marriage would be possible-
Like SHE in her lonely alien gaud waiting her Egyptian lover
so i wait-bereft of 2,000 years and the bath of life.

Perpertually Cloudy Days, Fine Linens, and Years of Pedigreed Breeding

I have this fantasy about the later years of my adulthood in which I buy a large estate in the English countryside where I live alone, read books all day, and have extravagant tea parties on the lawn with eccentric house guests. Hopefully there will have been some horrific murder years ago causing spirits to haunt my home. I will be intrigued by the ghosts, yet still terrified to be isolated, causing me to develop a romantic affair with the man who tends to my gardens. He will fall madly in love with me, begging me to leave my secluded home and start a life with him. I know we could be happy together, but my restless inclination will prevent me from giving into his wants. I am predestined to a life of solitude in my modern castle, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hugs and Kisses

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/Sk5JZp1KR9I/AAAAAAAAAJg/G206Uno09L0/s400/graduation.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5354297712064481234" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/Sk5JZozIbpI/AAAAAAAAAJY/y0-JKs86kbM/s400/key+west.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5354297711787536018" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/Sk5JZa0Mg2I/AAAAAAAAAJQ/1QZf4iv5Lcs/s400/howl+o+scream.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5354297708033901410" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/Sk5JZWILkSI/AAAAAAAAAJI/my2ZZjK7UdU/s400/ft+desoto.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5354297706775548194" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/Sk5JZMDhd7I/AAAAAAAAAJA/ZfWe7aifL8s/s400/animal+kingdom.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5354297704071657394" />
Just reflecting on the past 4 years. I feel so lucky to have such an amazing best friend. He arrived in Hamburg today, and he'll be in Europe until homecoming week. If today is a good signifier, I'll still be talking to him a lot. We skyped about 6 hours after he landed. Which is going to be soooo convenient since we both of Skype on our phones. I'm just gonna miss his company, our dinner's at Moe's, how he makes fun of me, our adorable platonic flirtation. I don't have anyone in my life that compares to him. I miss my bffl!

Gladiators HUH!

Today was very much a great shopping today. It was absolutely beautiful. These are just a few of the one million billion catrillion photos I took during our visit. I wish I possessed an inkling of photographical talent so I could better display the beautiful landscapes. Oh well. And I wish I could say that I enjoyed my weekend with my mom, but it ended terribly, making me wish that I don't have to see her or speak to her for awhile. There's only so much "you have a stupid major, you'll never get a job with that GPA, you should have tried harder to stay in architecture" talk a girl can handle over brunch with her mom and best friend. She definitely unleashed some of my low self-esteem and overall unstable mental health I'd been trying to subdue for the past few years. Thanks, Mom! :(

Oh so true...

Stuff White People Like
#124 Hating People Who Wear Ed Hardy

Often it can be easier to find common ground with a white person by talking to them about something you both hate. Discussing things you both like might lead to an argument over who likes it more or who liked it first. Clearly, the safest route is mutual hatred. When choosing to talk about something that white people hate, it’s best to choose something that will allow white people to make clever comments or at the very least feel better about themselves. Currently, the easiest way to do that is to ask a white person for their thoughts on people who wear Ed Hardy.

Ed Hardy is a clothing company that makes a wide range of expensive t-shirts, hoodies, and jeans. These clothes are notable for their use of elements from classic tattoo design such as skulls, hearts, and dragons. On the surface, the use of the words “classic” “tattoo” and “t-shirt” would seem like a logical fit for white people, but it is not. White people hate these clothes unilaterally and it is advised that you merely accept that at face value. If you were to ask a white person to explain why a regular size dragon logo is ok but one that goes around the neck is not, you would be trapped in a long and fruitless conversation.

To put this in proper perspective, Ed Hardy is so hated by white people that it cannot be worn ironically. This is no small feat. As it stands, the only other entries in this category are Nazi Uniforms, Ku Klux Klan Robes, and self-tanner.

Since you cannot in good conscience have an Ed Hardy themed party, the best way to make use of this white hatred is to give your stories a little more appeal to white people.

For example, if you take the reasonable but not compelling story: “I got cut off in traffic this morning and when I honked the guy gave me the finger,” and replace it with: “I got cut off in traffic this morning by this guy in an Ed Hardy shirt. I honked and then he gave me the finger!” The story will become sixty percent more interesting to white people because it allows them to make a witty response like: “I guess that douche bag had to get to a UFC party or a nightclub event he was promoting.”

Follow this up with a laugh, a high five, and a compliment about the acceptable shirt the white person is wearing and you will find yourself with a new friend.

Check out the rest of the list at Stuff White People Like

Wanderlust

Things are starting to become monotonous, and it's getting to me. I'm tired of the same schedule, the same people, the same everything. I think I'm starting my quarter life crisis. I've never traveled anywhere by myself. I think it could be an interesting experiment. Somewhere far enough away that I feel like I've accomplished something, and close enough that it doesn't take too long en route. I've never taken my car out of state. Maybe somewhere in Georgia - Savannah, perhaps? I could go when it starts to get warmer. All I would need to bring is a good book, something to sketch with, and a camera. I'll be meeting the family in St. Augustine the last weekend in March. I could drive up that night, stay somewhere quaint, and have the whole day to explore. Even though I'm probably never going to take that trip, it's nice to dream.

Wicked shoulder pads

Just when I thought I had stumbled upon the most amazing inspirational collaboration of my life http://tinyurl.com/butwdh, I found this

It's the Towers and Pinnacles collection by Emilie Steelie inspired by the architecture of Stockholm. But for some reason I turned on the E! red carpet pre-show, and I've been watching this whole extravaganza for the past 4 hours. A lot of actresses really turned it out tonight, very simple and elegant. While I enjoy the next few presentations left, I'll share some of my favorite red carpet looks.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 232px; height: 380px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/SaIhzB0bcyI/AAAAAAAAAFU/f0ujrvpimHY/s400/Amy+Adams.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5305840471541248802" />
Amy Adams made a smart choice to wear this red Carolina Herrera number. Which happened to coincide (purposely) with Gasparilla!!! I hadn't been since high school when I stayed with family friends. I barely remember the all the crazy drunk people, but I do I remember the parade and all the beads. Anyways it was amazing, and I reached new levels of drunkness on Saturday night. So much so that the birthday plans I'd made with my mom and dad were cancelled so that I could just chill with my mom and recover. It was definitely a much deserved night of drinking. I've been sooooo good since...August, September, one of those months. Hahaha for the past few days I was thinking I had been that drunk since Annette's graduation party, but I forgot about the night of hookah filled with vodka. It quickly became one of my favorite films of all time after I saw it the week it came out in theaters with my mom. We both love Sophia Coppola, and the 80's music quickly drew me in. While I have seen many, many collages, articles, editorials inspired by Marie Antoinette, I threw together this one in the past 10 minutes.

The portrait of the Queen of France herself is also on the cover of a book I have yet to finish, but purchased back in 2007. The deserts are Japanese, and I would much rather stare at them, imagining their delicate, sugary taste than actually consume them. Adam Ant is like a cross between 18th century France and a pirate. Loves it! If I owned those shoes I would try to incorporate them into my daily ensembles even though they match just about nothing I own. And I bought some of that jasmine flowering tea a few weeks back. The taste is nothing to brag about, but it was quite fun to watch bloom. I added the Miss Dior Cherie bottled because the new ad campaign was designed and shoot by Sophia Coppola. Double loves it!

Beauty Loot

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 550px; height: 575px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Y40_naCcSuc/SX6Cj46tbNI/AAAAAAAAAEE/VXDumFn8wNs/s400/beauty+loot" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295813764919946450" />
This title is completely fitting because I totally hoard my makeup purchases like pirate's treasure, rarely using the majority of it, mostly admiring it from a far. I may have a few too many Vera Bradley makeup bags full of slightly used products, but at least it has taught me what products are worth every penny.

1. Bare Escentuals powder foundation - $25 (medium beige as my foundation, tan as a bronzer)
2. Urban Decay deluxe eyeshadow - $18 (Paired with a primer it stays put through a 36 hour day. I have it in 5 shades)
3. Urban Decay liquid liner - $18 (Also lasts through a very busy day/night like the aforementioned UD deluxe eyeshadow)
4. Urban Decay skyscraper mascara - $17 (You may have noticed I love UD eye makeup)
5. You may be asking yourself where #5 is....truth is I cannot count and refuse to go back and correct my photoshop work.
6. Yes, it's only 7 PM, but it was that perfect. I woke up around 7 AM to do some reading before the Facets exam. It was in essay question format which I prefer ANY day over multiple choice or fill in the blank; scantrons are the ban of my existence. I would have to say that I have never enjoyed a non-architecture class that much in college. Sustainability in the Built Environment majors are so lucky. Afterwards I came home to just do a little cleaning. Mother's Pub for $3 burgers with Brian, Jules, Gio, and Megan. Gio and Megan are leaving for the break tom. and I would have to say I've really enjoyed getting in know them this semester; they are great people and make a great couple. I spent the rest of the day around GVille with Brian. Gator gear shopping, Union Street Market, Starbuck's, ABC, and Barnes & Noble, lastily, where we browsed for gifts, but I just ended up leaving with the latest Nylon and Dwell and a 2009 calendar for the UClub office. But while browsing I saw some GREAT books that I would love for xmas including one by Nina Garcia. It's about the 100 hundred items every woman should own. I couldn't be prouder of the school that gave us Gatorade, 3 national championships in 2 years, Ryan Lochte, 2008's #1 party school, and most recently a football team that rocked LSU 51-21. It was a glorious day of wins for the Gators, Longhorns, and Devil Rays. But sadly, I have learned that fashion and football do not mix very well. The long-standing mantra that Gators wear jean shorts is sadly true. I will even admit that I've sported a pair of Abercrombie cut-offs a time or two around campus. When I look around the stadium its always a sea of orange, blue, and white printed t-shirts. I was lucky enough to be seated near a sorority block, and saw some great examples of Saturday game fashion. Here's a quick DOs and DON'Ts to set the record straight:

DO find an orange, blue, or white sundress and decorate it with a strategically placed ribbon or button.
DON'T go overboard with Gator paraphenalia. We already know you're a fan if you've made it out to the game and sporting the colors.
DO tie your hair back neatly with a cute Gator ribbon if its a day game. You're going to regret taking the time to style your hair 2 minutes into the 1st quarter.
DON'T cut up a perfectly good shirt into a tiny tube dress that barely covers your boobs and ass.
DO bring a small purse to hold blotting papers, powder, and lip gloss to touch up during halftime. You're going to want to look your best for all those post-win Facebook pics.
DON'T wear heels or wedges to the game. Maybe a cute pair of espadrilles while tailgating, but if you're going to be standing and shouting in the student section, it might be a bit hard to balance after one too many red Solo cups of Natty Light.

And all though I don't always go for the preppiest of guys, you gotta love the fraternity brothers sporting khaki Dockers, Topsiders, a button up, and Gator-themed tie. Swoon.

So thanks to the ADPi girls for being great examples of Gator fashion at last night's game. I could have taken pictures, but I was too busy watching Tebow, Harvin, James, and Rainey walk all over the Tigers. Can't wait for Florida - Georgia!

Quick reminder to myself

It's not even necessary for me to give my reason for why I feel like this....but I have AMAZING friends.

It's like LiveJournal all over again...

I never thought I would start blogging. I even hate the word blog. When I hear it I just think of people ranting and raving about shit because they have no one else in the world to listen to them. So you're probably thinking, "then why did you decide to start a blog, oh pretentious one?" And your answer is because as much as I love my cute little journal designed by a SCAD grad student that I bought at the B n N, the physical act of writing is way too time consuming for me. I'd much rather just type it up in a few minutes and cut and paste from whatever sources I wish. There is really no theme to my postings. This is my life. These are my thoughts. They are unedited, and I will probably reveal a bit too much information from time to time. Hope you enjoy.
